Muted Neutrals: The Cappuccino Cream Dream

 In Style & Beauty

October marks the end of fashion month and the start of autumn…

We’re starting to get ladled in layers as well as some of fall’s most coveted colours… camel, cream and cappuccino.

I call this outfit of the day the Cappuccino Cream Dream:

a) Because I have a strong penchant for coffee 😛

and

b) Because it ties in all the different types of cream, camel, cappuccino and caramel in one ensemble

So, before I get into the deets, why not make yourself a cuppa and ensconce yourself in that cosy blanket and read about my secret to the leg-lengthening trousers I’m wearing…

These trousers are one of the most flattering pair I’ve ever worn, not to mention the fact they give the illusion your legs go on for days…

They’re high waisted, nipping you in at your slimmest, and skim down your legs so that you can still see the silhouette of your shape through them, but so that you look like you’re wearing the trousers and it’s not the trousers wearing you.

They’re a light camel, which means they go with everything and they’re the most unusual texture – soft but not lightweight. You can find them from ‘Never Fully Dressed’ from Asos, but I’ll link you to everything below at the end of this page (NB: These trousers are the only item not linking below – use the one above instead 🙂 )

I paired them with a crop cream jumper from Missguided which is deliciously cosy and warm and has a huge slouchy cowl neck that you can roll into whatever shape you like.

No autumn outfit is complete without a trusty floppy hat, which I got from a unique section in Topshop.

I added a pair of tan caramel studded boots, with a slight heel for extra height and length. I bought these a couple of years ago so I’ll link some similar below.

Lastly, the final touch, the hand bag. “It’s just a little bag, but we’d feel naked in public without it.” – Carrie Bradshaw. And she couldn’t be more right.

I’ve had this Mulberry Bayswater since I was 18, so it’s lasted me 5 years and it’s still going strong.

The thing about this bag is that, the longer you have it, the better it gets. The natural vegetable tanned leather, with which it’s made, wears, gets softer and looks more natural and comfortable and less rigid over time. This is perfect for this outfit, as it brings together effortless comfort and class.
