The Dress That Saw Me Through Summer

I know what you’re probably thinking… ‘It’s coming into Autumn and she’s posting about a summer dress!?’ Haha and you’re absolutely right! However, in my seasonal defense there was a heatwave a couple weeks ago in London when I took the shots and I’ve only just been on my summer holiday to the South of France (where its still 27 degrees!) so you can see how I’m still fantasizing about summer like Olaf in Frozen haha
I digress… Back to the dress…
There’s many things that come under my criteria for a dress and this is the one that saw me through the summer.
You know when you walk through Topshop Oxford Street and you’re normally like a kid in a candy store but also slightly overwhelmed, well both of these emotions were happening right then except all of a sudden my eyes gazed over a hue of pretty provencal purple/blues and it was love at first sight.
I was drawn to it immediately and guess what? Tried it on and it ticked all the boxes:
Long enough without being from the ‘tall’ section (leggy lady problems)
Budget friendly – £25 to be exact
SO soft and comfy
Breathable so it works for summer
Flattering – it skimmed my figure because of its vertical panels but also went in at the waist and out at the hips so it gave the illusion of an hourglass figure
Versatile – can be worn with heels and a dressy jacket or trainers and denim jacket
Here’s how I styled it…
A bold red lip to bring out the bolder coloured flowers in the dress, a denim jacket and baby blue bag to tie together the hue.
Threw on some white superstars and hit the town – set for whatever it threw at me – errands or rooftop cocktails!
