Winter Blues – OOTD

 In Style & Beauty

Happy new year y’all!

Although I’m feeling excited, fresh and ready to embrace the beginning of 2016, it’s hard to not have the winter blues in January in some shape or form and for me, I embrace it in my outfits…

For Christmas I was extremely lucky in receiving a blue prada bag and in true fashion blogger style, have been trying to pair my outfits around the bag. Although a blue bag might instinctively be thought of as a spring/summer style, I wanted to show how the colour can work in winter. So here it is, my winter blues outfit of the day…

Step 1 was of course wearing my favourite pair of blue jeans and I look no further than Topshop. What I love about Topshop jeans is that it helps out us leggy ladies by actually offering different lengths! I find their jeans fit as snug as a bug, look flattering and don’t lose their shape, all while not giving me that awkward crop ‘jakup’ look (haha jakups! #throwback Comment below if you remember this at school!)…I digress…

I added to this my asos long sleeved ribbed lace up blue top. I’d say it’s half way inbetween a top and a jumper as it’s quite thick. I love the lace up detail and it means if you’re feeling lazy with jewellery, you don’t have to wear a necklace as it’s already a statement by itself.

On top of this I wore my winter blue boucle coat from Matalan which is super cosy. It’s last season’s but I’ll link to similar below.

Now, althought this post is entitled winter blues I wanted to add a pop of another colour for dimension. I’m seriously crushing on burgundy and blue for winter at the moment and thought these over the knee boots from new look would do just that. They’ve got a slight heel which makes your legs appear longer, but they’re not too high that it’s difficult to walk.

Finally, to accessorise, I added my simple Mulberry rose gold bracelet, my prada sunnies as it was a glorious sunny day and of course my blue prada bag.
